Of Ties And Tears

So if you've been looking through the Handplates tags lately, then you've probably seen a similar motive here and there.
How'd this come to be?
Well, a few days ago, me and Inno were talking about Mercyplates. One of the things we talked about were GoatDad hugs and how a certain troubbled Skeleton could use one or two of those.
After that our conversation went something like this:
"That's such a nice mental image. Really that needs to be drawn."
"Yes. But it would also be so difficult."
"Yes."
And that was the end of that.
Well, the idea wouldn't leave me alone so I went and started sketching something. A few days later, Inno showed me a work in progress seketch of hers. Of that scene. To which I replied by showing her my own wip. Amused, we decided to share those. And then it turned out Skelly had unbeknownst to us also been working on a similar image... and before we knew it it had turned into sort of a group project with lots of people drawing comforting hugs. XD

Honestly, Asgore seems like the kind of person who'd be able to give really awesome dadhugs. The kind that makes you feel protected.

And I had decided that my first drawing this year would not be Handpaltes related. That didn't work. XD


Edit: First person to notice the little easter egg about this drawing wins...uh...dunno. A cookie? Easter Egg has been found by Day. - Who also unintentionally reminded me about the fact that Gaster's coat would have been damaged by this point in time. Oops. Fixed that.
